Welcome all pregnant moms to the Flex & Flow community! We want you to feel supported and have the right tools, poses, and modifications to use in any of our classes. We are so happy to announce the newest class on our schedule – Prenatal Yoga. Every Sunday, join Shannan Carlino at 3pm for Prenatal Yoga, a class that is aimed to help expecting moms strengthen their muscles, create stability in their joints, and leave with the tools to practice prenatal yoga in any of our yoga classes.
We want this class to be accessible to all expecting moms, so we are offering Prenatal Classes at a special $10 drop-in rate or $35 monthly membership, which includes all Prenatal Yoga and Active Restoration classes. Reserve your spot here!

A little bit about me…
Yoga has been a part of my life for over 10 years. I started practicing with hopes of being able to touch my toes. It turns out there is much more to yoga than being flexible! I kept returning to my mat because yoga provided me with a place to quiet my mind, connect with my breath, and strengthen my muscles. I love that yoga is physically challenging and mentally enlightening.
In 2015, I chose to deepen my practice and completed my 200 hour yoga and 85 hour prenatal teacher training programs with Charm City Yoga. Forever a student, I continue to take courses and I am eternally grateful to my loving teachers for sharing their wisdom with me. I teach to share my passion and knowledge of yoga with others.
I fell in love with teaching prenatal yoga during my 200 hour teacher training course. I’ve always marveled at the beauty and power of pregnant women. Each woman has a unique experience and an innate understanding of what is right for her body. Practicing yoga while pregnant benefits the body physically and emotionally. It also cultivates a deeper relationship with baby while in utero. Pregnancy is such a special time in a woman’s life and sharing in the journey is a true honor.
What to expect during Prenatal Yoga
In my classes, you will get a little of everything- meditation, creative postural sequences, breath work and uplifting music. I love to provide space for students to listen to their inner voice while flowing with fellow yogis. It’s a no judgment zone, so do what feels natural! I simply encourage students to be mindful, live fully, and be present both on and off the mat.
As Rolf Gates, author of Meditations From the Mat puts it, “The real payoff of a yoga practice, I came to see, is not a perfect handstand or a deeper forward bend—it is the newly born self that each day steps off the yoga mat and back into life.”
When I’m not on the yoga mat, you can find me outside exploring new trails, cooking, painting, or sleeping. Living fully is hard work!
