by Jessica Lin in Fitness, Teacher Feature, Yoga

We’re super excited to announce that we’re hosting a guest instructor from the East Coast! The lovely Alexis Tressler will be guiding the Monday August, 15th 8pm Upside Down class!  Alexis is a good friend of mine from back in DC and we used to practice and teach together all over the metro DC area. Her smile and energy are infectious and her practice is truly inspiring! I’m so happy and grateful that she’s is coming out for a visit and that we could get her into the studio to share her awesome teaching style and energy with us. Class…

Usually some hot lemon water accompanies me to the mat and this is where I try to start….

by Liz in Fitness, Teacher Feature, Yoga

Alrighty y’all. I’m going to admit it finally… I’m addicted to handstands! Oh wait, that’s probably a surprise to no one! Handstands are just plain FUN! They’re challenging and empowering simultaneously! You start building strength, you start hopping and barely leave the ground, you start getting some hangtime, you nail it more and more, you’re balancing you’re entire body on your hands, and then it’s all playtime from there! Ok, I simplified years of hard work and sweat into just a sentence. It is hard. It takes a lot of courage and falling a lot! But those moments of flying make it all…

Twist and Shout for this Multidimensional Pose

by Nicci Randall in Fitness, Teacher Feature, Yoga

Practicing yoga never ceases to amaze me, as I find that it reflects my life in all of its different moments. In terms of physical postures, different poses feel good in my body at different times of the day, different moments in my life. Daily life where I’m sitting or biking a lot makes me crave heart and hip openers. When I’m feeling very energized, I could arm balance the day away! Sometimes though, life hands you injuries or other obstacles impeding you from taking those postures that you took to its fullest extension only days prior. The key with…
